CULTURAL CLUB'S VIBRANT CELEBRATION OF "BORSHO BORON" – A SPLENDID TRIBUTE TO BENGALI HERITAGE & TRADITION

The Cultural Club of Ideal Institute of Engineering, Kalyani, successfully celebrated the vibrant and culturally rich festival of “Borsho Boron” on 11th April 2025. The event, held at the First Floor Seminar Hall, aimed to embrace the Bengali New Year with heightened enthusiasm, showcasing the essence of Bengali traditions, values, and artistic expressions.

“Borsho Boron”, widely known as “PohelaBoishakh”, marks the beginning of the Bengali calendar year and is a deeply cherished celebration among Bengalis across the globe. It is observed with grandeur on 14th April in Bangladesh and on 15th April in Indian states like West Bengal, Tripura, Assam, and Jharkhand.

This year, the celebration at IIE, Kalyani, was a grand affair graced by the Honourable Chairman, President, Principal, and Registrar of the college. The event was beautifully anchored by Mr. Soumya Mallick and Ms. Kristi Chakraborty from the CSE Department.

The event commenced with the auspicious ritual of PradipProjjolon (Lighting of the Lamp) by the Honourable Registrar Sir, Shukla Madam, and the TICs of all departments, symbolizing the dispelling of darkness and ushering in prosperity and enlightenment.

The event was not just a celebration but also a reflection of cultural unity, artistic brilliance, and traditional pride. “Borsho Boron” is an opportunity to reflect on the past year and step into the new one with renewed hope, energy, and commitment to progress. The event promoted harmony, encouraged creativity, and strengthened the cultural identity of the students and faculty alike.

The celebration was a resounding success and a memorable beginning to the Bengali New Year, leaving everyone with hearts full of joy and spirits high with cultural pride.
