Ideal Institute of Engineering (IIE) is a co-educational institution committed to upholding the principles of equality, dignity, and mutual respect. The Institute endeavours to maintain a congenial, inclusive, and professionally secure environment for all stakeholders. In alignment with this commitment, and recognizing the necessity of a structured redressal mechanism, IIE adheres to a Zero Tolerance Policy towards sexual harassment in any form.

In compliance with the Sexual Harassment of Women at Workplace (Prevention, Prohibition and Redressal) Act, 2013, and in accordance with the UGC (Prevention, Prohibition and Redressal of Sexual Harassment of Women Employees and Students in Higher Educational Institutions) Regulations, 2015, the Institute has constituted an Internal Complaints Committee (ICC).

The ICC is entrusted with ensuring that any complaint involving unwelcome behaviour—such as physical contact or advances, demands for sexual favours, sexually coloured remarks, or any other verbal, non-verbal, or physical conduct of a sexual nature—is received, examined, and addressed promptly, impartially, confidentially, and with due sensitivity.

Objectives of the ICC

  • To prevent sexual harassment within the Institute by fostering awareness and sensitivity among students, faculty, and staff.
  • To ensure a safe, dignified, and gender-neutral working and learning environment.
  • To provide an accessible, confidential, and fair mechanism for redressal of complaints related to sexual harassment.
  • To uphold the principles of gender equality, natural justice, and due process through impartial inquiry and timely resolution.
  • To organize awareness, orientation, and sensitization programmes on gender issues, women’s rights, and prevention of sexual harassment.

Eligibility to Approach the ICC

Any aggrieved woman who experiences sexual harassment within the campus or in the course of any college-related activity may file a complaint with the ICC. This includes:

  • Women employees of the Institute (Teaching and Non-Teaching).
  • Students enrolled at the Institute.
